Job Description

  • Manage a document control system that supports project development throughout the product life cycle. This includes establishing a strong framework and creating, updating and maintaining processes to support it.
  • Manage a group of Doc Control Specialists and work with other departments, such as IT, Finance and Sales to create a structure that supports best practices.
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop accurate bills-of-materials and workflows to ensure a successful transition from design to manufacturing.This includes releases, approvals and change management.
  • Ensure Project team members are provided with the training and support that enables them to successfully use the established systems and processes. Proactively conduct “spot audits” to ensure compliance to Doc Control procedures and facilitate Project team member understanding, where needed.
  • Develop routine reports and metrics to gauge a Project Team’s progress and bring visibility to efficiencies and areas in need of improvement.

Job Requirements

  • A four-year degree is preferred, however a two-year technical degree augmented with courses and/or seminars in engineering change control, change requests and project management, is acceptable.
  • 5+ years of document control experience in a hardware product development environment.
  • Must be able to interface and effectively collaborate with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds; must be detail-oriented and highly organized; and must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer-service attitude.
  • Experience working with Omnify required; experience working with SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical development teams as well as executive-level personnel.
  • Hands-on management approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that instill trust, respect, and high personal work standards.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office Applications.
