Job Description

The Product Owner, Wireless Microphone & Guitar Products is responsible for overall coordination and management of assigned products from conception through definition, development, release to production and introduction into the marketplace.  This position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, and key customers. Job duties include gathering requirements from existing and potential customers as well as recent evaluators, writing market requirements documents or Agile product backlogs, monitoring the implementation of each product project and managing the scrum team’s cadence with thoughtful and infectious leadership. It also encompasses working on product marketing deliverables in tandem with Marketing and Sales leaders.

  • Represent the "voice of the customer" to the development, sales and marketing teams from ideation through  launch
  • Reach out to end users and potential customers on a regular schedule
  • Define market requirements and user personas for individual products
  • Analyze the competitive landscape
  • Conduct technology assessments, including industry innovations
  • Write product requirements and usage scenarios
  • Manage and prioritize product backlogs and bug lists
  • Act as Product Designer during development
  • Evangelize products internally and keep the team motivated to perform at a high level
  • Lead sprint review and planning sessions and daily stand-up meetings
  • Create user manuals and product packaging design
  • Write marketing and sales briefs to communicate product positioning, benefits and selling points

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years, ideally no less than 4 years experience in a product design or product management role in a related industry
  • Extensive experience in live sound engineering and/or wireless system setup and troubleshooting
  • Familiar with assessing wireless radio technology such as available frequency bands
  • Good knowledge of common audio testing equipment
  • Knowledge of guitar amplification and effects technology a plus
  • Out of box thinker with a good sense for innovative approaches to solving complex problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals
  • Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build consensus across functional boundaries
  • Ability to create effective plans and manage diverse and multiple tasks while balancing short and long-term goals
  • Ability to work extended hours/days and occasional travel
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Experience in hardware and software design
  • Familiar with Agile development process
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
